Committed Relief and CC La Habra are planning to take volunteers to Ejido Durango, a small village 25 miles southwest of Mexicali, for some relief work. One of our church members went there the day after the earthquake to check on his parents. This village of 1,500 residents was hit hard, with buildings destroyed and large pockets of flooding (possibly from underground pools of water that were disturbed by the quake). Many of the residents are camping beside the road leading into town, and are afraid to go back to their houses.

We are planning to make weekly trips on Saturdays, bringing supplies and the love of God. If you are interested in serving, please call the church office at (714) 446-6222. Passports are necessary, so apply for one now.

We are accepting canned goods that we will take to Mexicali during our weekly trips. You can bring these items to the church during service times and business hours.
